Causeway

am sorry guys for been away, after loosing my phone in kibuye, have been kind off overtaken by events, talk about great losses, and they couldn't wait, it was a brand one month old phone in my hands when somebody thought they were better off with it
and today its all been crazy with my feet seeking to finish my field questionnaire, the sun seems to have been overhead most of the day, and despite having my pink perfume, ( a gift from Olivia) on, my feet couldn't just stop complaining. However all that sublimed when on a motor bike on my way back, passing through the causeway and watching the sun set in the distance, my day was all worth it.
The strong breeze, and the feeling of been alive, feeling the airs pass through my chest, the beauty of it get stuck like the memories of a first love, and that is how I thought before i get into the shower I would just love to share my day with you bye for now, and a great evening....

The budget

I guess all Kenyans will be awaiting the reading of the buget tomorrow, 11 June 2009. Tense moments, very tense, today i just heard the craziest proposal of rent increment of more than twice the current figures, I just wonder if someone out here knows more than I do before the budget gets read?

Most of us will be stuck on our television gearing to hear what the finance minister has to say, wishing us the best wont do tonight, lets hope that we are given the grace to solve our problems with minimal amount of cash......hard prayers, but all the same........its getting tough...

As always Kenya is place to be, and Mbita the place not to miss out.

Mbasa Island

I say it again, you want to visit Mbita, am the person you should be talking to, this is not a hype rated information on a place you would regret been around, beautiful in a raw and untouched way.

People here are lovely, in a quite honest way, first impressions would almost likely be the correct ones, and any preferential treatment of visitors is always to the positive end.
If you love the lake, trekking, and one cold beer on the hill watching the sunset, am sure you would think of a thousand places where you would do this and i bet you Mbita would not be in that list, not because you will not want it there , it because you don't know the place. It actually wont be in your usual tour guide books, which makes me think, Kenyans and foreign tourists have been denied access to the best of what this place offers. The few people i have met, who get to this place, someone did tell them about, and now am doing the same, giving you a personalized information the next time Kenya is in your list.
Mbasa Island is on your way to Takawiri Island, full of bird life, a haven for birdwatchers, if you could have your boat floating on the vicinity of the island, and as all birdwatcher would have experienced at any one time the birdshit is something you cant avoid!

Have a great start in the week, and enjoy the rest of it.

Takawiri Island

Found just offshore off Lake Victoria its truly a beautiful place with a resort that can be booked from the mainlan Mbita. A boat ride would usually cost about 200dollars. Also depends on the trips, and tour pace.

I would suggest, a visit to Mbita point the next time you drop into Kenya, and for your information migingo is far off from Mbita shores! An experience to cherish, if you ask me, and as always remember: its fresh water lake!
