I pray that as we celebrate labour day, our policymakers can grant us the wish of them paying taxes! Amen.

Dr. Margaret Chan: Swine Flu hitting the pandemic door!
Its of global concern, now more than ever after the W.H.O Director General, moved the swine flu alert from level 4 to five, on Wednesday at a live press conference aired by most stations. Of concern to us Africa, is our preparedness to deal with a pandemic such as this in case it occurs. Its already hitting many states in the U.S and our worst fear and I believe our governments too, to hear any cases in Africa.
My concern at the individual level is what can we do even as the government steps up its campaign against the disease? Watching from all the news streaming in worldwide it seems, wearing masks, gloves could help, as the disease is spread through sneezing, coughs, and touching surfaces touched by persons already suffering from the virus.
I am still on the line trying to get someone to talk to on the hotline provided by the Ministry of Health...actually the mobile line 0722 331 548, and it still aint getting picked up, this is the second time, its ringing and no one is picking up....is that a hotline madam minister because this line should be open for any information the citizens of Kenya need, however will keep trying, TIA.
As we go on : honey not today as a friend said it...lets see how men's health get affected this week

No sex for Kenyan men
I sure do think this will be an interesting week for the men, and of course for the women too, depending on which side of the coin you look at it. Just imagine for the ones whose sex life has been nothing but routine, they can finally forge a nice break in the name of demonstration, the final bit is probably having the man in the house take issues seriously! Quite some interesting way of sensitization! I call it the new way of creating awareness, go! women go!
But where exactly does the ideology that denying men sex, a conjugal right is okay and effective. I heard somewhere we are fighting this concept, you know...if you want him to do something right just deny him the fruit and he will be doing it,Delilah style, i call it. I came to believe its archaic now this demonstrating women, are clearly showing, that what has been happening in the bedrooms of most families is indeed true, sex; women have realized is an appropriate tool to be used when necessary, and if we go by majority, it is the last card to be pulled out of the the bag.
I am curious, if symptoms will begin, persist until they get sick because of lack of it, to me it really depends on how long the sex denial will be on, how well it gets accomplished and probably maybe the boys will be packing in together. Probably the church should give us the way forward in this issue, is it really okay to do that?
Now that the men know how to run to court even when Solomon's wisdom has been used to solve problems, wonder what the women are in for!

World Malaria day special
I hope you spent it well, am not going to get into the woes, of how bad things are, however I want to commend the government for work done, in regard to heath of Kenyans, however the biggest room in the house is always the "improvement room". As much as bed nets coverage is high, bed net utilization should be our hot topic, well in Suba district, I heard some are whispering the fishermen are finding alternative usage with it, I was happy to hear the D.C there give a very strong warning to those caught doing so. No matter what the government do, the fight starts with individuals, who are the people found in households.Malaria is not a government problem, its your and my problem, that is where solution begins.
Have a great free malaria....and all the other mosquito related disease year.

Emergency sex?
Sounds weird huh? especially when i have no intention of talking about sex at all, that is the amazing book written by three UN volunteers, Ken, Heidi and Andrew whose work have spanned over a decade, taking them to different parts of the world to volunteer, the lives that they have touched, but more so the lives that touched them. The striking thing about the book is the rawness with which it brings the experiences to life, raw, painful and quite memorable and one story was about Rwanda. Sad story where brother did not recognize brother and hell broke loose. But the story that is often untold is that part of our world knew long before it happened that it was a time bomb in waiting, the talk went on, small sins went unpunished and finally it was genocide. What will it take for us to see how it all started.
Am so sad tonight, a woman hacked to death, died in front of journalists, neighbours, friends, and the police, and on the background her house burning down.I cried when those 30 people died, and i also cried today. It seems all this talk is not helping, are we a new Rwanda waiting to happen? Held to ransom by a few, Kenya is been taken to the dogs! I want the world to remember that we all have a chance to save Kenya, we need help. I am a Kenyan, and tonight am crying that we need help. How can we kill our own like that? The army should come out now, all arms should be up to stop the madness.Somebody must have sold us to the devil during last elections, and it is pay back time, and somebody is using Kenyan lives to do so, is the government saying they cannot deal with murderers? Hunger is killing some of us, and our "good" neighbours are taking the opportunity to edge in, can it get better than that?
Good health starts with a dignified living. I feel a lump in my throat when i want to talk about Malaria right now. The right to life is one of the human rights, and good health follows. As we celebrate malaria day and a hope for a free malaria infected people, lets put our countrymen and women in prayers tonight. I pray that Kofi Annan had the best interest of Kenyans in his heart when he brokered the grand coalition deal, otherwise the thieves just got better, they are now murderers of their own. How can a people not fear the blood they share in their veins? Where is the national intelligence on this killer groups. where is the investigative reports of the police, because anger will not solve our problems, the weakness of a rotten and failed system is now showing,
Am saddened, touched, and quite saddened indeed. Can the politicians stop their petty fights, for a group that has problems paying tax in this country, can they at least make sure it is conducive for the taxpayers!

Churchill Live Nights: getting a break?
Gonna miss this one, made me proud to be a Kenyan. A true nationalist, come back soon Churchill, we sure gonna miss the show for sometime, truly made NTV watchable and enjoyable, although my last watch was hanging all the way........
Big up to Churchill, when a man does a good job surely a woman has to acknowledge. Thank you for bringing on the Ugandans, and letting that audience say it like it is, the rest of us can clutch our diplomacy baskets or is it briefcases and wait for money to roll out to decide where Migingo belongs...... did i hear the developement funds are not been approved yet, or if the parliament crisis goes on, the whole government budget will stop?
Have a great Churchill night.

The blame game
Well we are good at it, aren't we. I would like to give some unexpertise advice to KNHRC and in the same context I feel its an encouragement too......keep the fire burning, not when incidences happen keep it burning each and everytime, shout even when the media doesn't think its news, don't make it a moral obligation to call a press conference when things go wrong, do it each and every time. I know its not easy, I respect the work you do, I thank your members for keeping at it even when lay men like us forget it overnight, but keep it burning, because i believe in heaven, those long before us, are waiting for justice to be done.
The system is rotten. Don't blame the big guy, blame the system that allows it to happen. We now all know, even if you change the old men for young men, they finally start dancing to the same tunes..... do i have a believer in the house? Please say...A....n. Did I hear M.K in parliament right or was i dreaming. The conscious is a good thing, lies in wait for you to come around, sleeps and awakens to judge you...M.K it has nothing to do with the government its the system, fight it, not them.
Am not going to sing the old song over and over again, the youth you know the song, but having voted in three elections or two elections, are you still a youth?
Past tense is what we will all become, some have choices to choose their way out, but some are not given that luxury, i know it, you know it, you can choose to change the world, one neighbour at a time, or you can choose to join the game, i leave it up to you but remember tomorrow you wont be a youth, take a look at your son, or daughter...she or he will be a youth!
As we go to sleep tonight.....My Heavenly Father, have mercy on us, take care of us, forgive us our trespasses and take care of gran ma and gran pa, and all the other relatives living away from us, that the devil may see the red lambblood painting on our doors and pass us by.

Over twenty Butchered in Karatina: Flag half mast
When over twenty people die, by the sword of their country men, its not tragedy...it has another word, which Rwanda can tell a story about.
I am a woman, and somebody I think even called me a bitch for talking too much, but I need to keep going because born on African soil has given me that right. I have to cry when something is not right, I have to mourn if my brothers are killed, butchered in horrifying killings. I have a problem as always with people who go on as if nothing has happened......open the parliament debate about current issues and leave the topic of the day. This is not about Migingo, this is not about who owns what this is about Kenya, that is why it is encouraged that from whatever mountain you stand its your moral obligation to exercise your democratic voice. If last night that was your father, or your mother, or your son, or daughter, just stop for a minute....... what if it was. dragged out of their houses, and ruthlessly killed, the system has failed us. It is the system we need to fight, not me and you, its the system. Over twenty and no law enforcers knew or responded to that......1..2...3...4...5....6...7 upto and 0ver 26 .......
Its the system we need to fight, to change, today it might not be you, but tomorrow it might be close to home, we owe it to the people failed by this system, those who have sacrificed their lives at the alter of reforms, and each and everyone of us has a part to play......just take a moment and ask your self how you can do that....its not by the sword, the reforms this country need cannot be achieved by swords, intelligence is the way to go please play your role, the flag today should surely having been flowing half way to the top, R.I.P brethen.

A health affair
A voice is to be heard, and dialogue is always the way forward, I beg to differ, when an argument cannot be made intelligent however, democracy begs that every voice, mind, and opinions should be respected, and i bend to this rule.
Some of us make it difficult for the truth to be told, leave alone voiced, When health issues are voiced a spot in my heart is touched. I watched the Sweden ambassador to Kenya struggling with the best words, not to call mismanagement of funds what it is, nor to say they have expectations of the aid given in Kenya, expectations of constitutional reforms, but who are we to say anything, I wish they could eat all they want, but give Kenya what they deserve, facilitate policies for the good of common mwanachi, when I heard one of the women released from KNH calling her baby "mwangi" what do you think went through my mind...ODM? Give me a break
Health knows no bounds..........when you cant meet your basic needs, and the other guy on the other side of town is thinking when Tuesday will arrive for a free pizza to do the rounds, I sure do have a problem . The engagement and participation of common wanainchi in policy making processes for issues that affect them has been hindered by the "learned" per se who has it within their minds, to state opinions are the luxury of the experts. Take a look around and tell me that Civil Societies are going to die tomorrow, I will take a look around and say, in your capacity as the citizen of Kenya, from whichever point of the mountain you stand, it is your obligation to tell us how good or bad things are there, that is a piece of patriotism!
I take my leave, but the mistakes can be corrected, division of office at Afya house is doing damages in the health centres in communities, Somebody maybe in the last few years doesnt know where the door of government health centre looks like, but folks out here depend on those health facilites, its time the top guys sort out there trash......and get the best trickling down,

Migingo Island: Spokesman ?
"Mr Kivuitu, the former ECK chairman, will pocket the highest amount – Sh5,844,680," Daily NaTION 20th April 2009.
Thank you for selling us to the highest bidder!
Now your like don't even know how to pronounce Migingo Island, leave alone be a little bit patriotic in standing up for the country. Talk talk talk, are men finished in Kenya. Or are the men waiting for a woman to rise, am thinking seriously about M K, when you cant get the angel, maybe the devil is worth our salt. Pathetic, unpatriotic, and not attractive....am tired of the bicckering, and more so, when i thought it was an old age phenomena for women to talk, men are not dissapointing me in this area, tell me Migingo is not for sale, then i will tell you Grand Regency wasnt for sale either!
A night after women who have been locked up in KNH for not paying bills go home, we are going to spend millions to do a survey, to determine who Migingo belongs to, the sins of the colonialist are ctaching up with us I guess, but they are humbled enough to offer help....which am sure will be turned out, lets dish out the money, let Ugandans pay there cost later because they are broke, my foot!Am impressed.
I support dialogue, and I truly believe diplomatic relations should be encouraged and maintained but just like a girl that can never say a true No so are political leaders who seem to sway based on their misinformed concept of what the electorate is thinking! And some opinion polling guys are having a party over this, i wish they could do surveys on how many women died last night giving birth in our health facilities, you might not have been affected but someone was....a health system failing its people, policy makers short of knowing their J.Ds and us the educated lot, who think if the coalition breaks you will go on the street and kill your own countryman! We know where the problem is, why does it look like there is nothing we can do about it?
I dont need a spokeperson to answer my querry, the question can be ignored!

Africa glowing
When I fall, I know I shall rise
When am held, I know I need to hold
When am laughed, I need to laugh too,
When I mourn I shall be mourned
Only then, can I know to love in this life time,
What shall stop me, Love? No! War? No! Barrenness? No! Husband less? No! Diamonds? No! Gold? No! AIDS?
That is what Africa has taught me, that despite it all, love is what they can't take away.
